Karneval: Rosenmontag in Düsseldorf

Rosenmontag, or 'Rose Monday', is the climax of the Karneval season
in Germany.

The 'rose' part of 'Rose Monday' has nothing to do with the flower.
Rose in Latin means 'wild'. And on Rosenmontag, that is exactly how
people are expected to get - wild.

The theme this year was 'Wat Kütt Dat Kütt', or 'What Happens, Happens'.

Armed with that knowledge, we put on a little makeup, a bit of a
costume, watched the parade from in front of Julio's in Altstadt, and
celebrated Rosenmontag with a bunch of friends.

My only conclusion, as an Auslander, is that Germans know how to put
Lent out of their minds...
